Remove Author box from blog exerts and author excerpts page

I want my author box to appear at the top of the author archive page and at the bottom of each individual article.

At the moment, the author box does that but it also shows after every excerpt in my archive and main blog excerpts pages.

I've used the Epik theme on several sites and the author box does not display on archive pages by default. This means your theme has been customized to display the author box on archive pages. Look for the following line of code in functions.php and remove it:

add_filter( 'get_the_author_genesis_author_box_archive', '__return_true' );

If you can't find this in functions.php, it can be located almost anywhere in a file loaded by functions.php or in the archive template itself. Since this is a customization, I can't help you further. I can only point you in the direction of what to look for.

Hey Victor, thanks for your help. I can't see that you provided line in my .php - However, I did modify the author box to add social icons.

Here is the line of code I think is relevant (and I wonder if this is what is causing the author box to appear in the excerpts).

remove_action( 'genesis_after_entry', 'genesis_do_author_box_single', 8 ); // Remove default Genesis Author Box
add_action( 'genesis_after_entry', 'rv_theme_author_box', 8 ); // Do custom author box instead
function rv_theme_author_box() { ?>

Does this shed light on the issue and indicate how I might get rid of the AB on archive excerpt pages?
