    I'm using Portfolio Pro and I am trying to find a way to remove the black horizontal bars from the Navigation Menus by customizing the CSS.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Looks like you solved the problem. I don't see any black horizontal bars.

    It seems the bars are on the Secondary Menu location, which is not included on the front page.

    The top line comes from the border-bottom in the .site-header .wrap class. The second line comes from the border-bottom in the .nav-primary .wrap class. Remove both of those border-bottom lines from style.css.
