    Hi,

I'm trying to do a widgetized homepage for a magazine theme. I have around 10 widget areas (code from Sridhar Katakam tutorials) and on most of them I have placed the Genesis Featured Posts widget with different settings.
I'm using Query Monitor and I see a lot of queries, some slow queries and some duplicate queries. I wanted to ask if that's normal.
In a magazine layout, obviously there's going to be a lot more queries than on a simple blog layout but I worry about performance issues. Is the Genesis Featured Posts widget ok to use in this scenario?

WordPress queries are rarely the source of performance bottlenecks. There are literally hundreds of factors involved in improving a site's performance. I recommend running your site through GTMetrix and see their recommendations: https://gtmetrix.com/reports/demo.fusioncurl.com/HCEBpqCH
