The home-page-1 area uses an Atomic Blocks post grid to display the featured content. Edit the home page, remove that block, and replace it with a slider block if your slider plugin provides one, other wise use a shortcode block and use the slider's shortcode.

@inadvertent I don't see a slider in Atomic Blocks. So look for a slider plugin that offers a shortcode for the slider and then you just add the Shortcode block, add the slider shortcode and then you're set. Or, you can use Ultimate Blocks with Atomic if you want and they have a slider.

The Soliloquy plugin does add a slider block in Gutenberg.

Hi there, apologies for the delay in replying, I do appreciate the feedback and assistance

I have been playing around with a few sliders and found that the Smart Slider 3 adds a slider perfectly to page

the only thing is that I am experimenting a little more before purchasing the slider plugin

ideally I need to pull from a category (featured) for the display of the image

brad, do you use soliloguy plugin, as the smart slider came across as no frills

    thoughts and opinions appreciated

    many thanks InA

I use Soliloquy for many tutorials i have already published however i don't use for my personal site.

I'm sure you can use any slider which includes a block or add the shortcode to a shortcode block.

Thanks Brad .. adding images etc is OK but pulling the image from a featured post to display in the slider is the main aim

    thanks for your time
