    I think that the footer area was black when first installed.
    I do have color for site-inner-wrap set to white. (Because the body has an image)
    Is that what is covering the footer?
    If it is.. is there any way to have background image, white content area and black footer?

    I've tried changing these two snippets.. and nothing happens
    .site-footer {
    background-color: #000;
    font-family: 'Raleway', sans-serif;
    font-size: 14px;
    font-size: 1.4rem;
    text-align: center;
    }
    .footer-widgets {
    background-color: #000;
    color: #aaa;
    clear: both;
    font-size: 14px;
    font-size: 1.4rem;
    padding: 60px 0 20px;
    }

    Your site-footer is black. I'm not sure what you're asking.

    Yes, sorry.. I did figure out how to get the "footer" lower area black.
    My problem is with the "Footer Widget" area.. specifically the background.

    I was able to get the background of the actual widgets to be black ..
    but the space around them is always white. That is the part that I believe is controlled by the "site-inner-wrap" color?

    In the meantime I changed to all white to see if that was ok for the people I'm doing the site for.

    Ideally.. I'd like the footer WIDGET area to be black like the bottom footer.. with background and widgets black. Just not sure with site-inner-wrap set to white..if it's possible.

    Thanks
