MemberHi!
As above I want to know how to create, configure a 3 page slider for Front Page
I am using Genesis theme Infinity Pro - see here
QUESTIONS:
Can this be done without installing a 3rd party tool - if so how.
If 3rd party plugin necessary, what is recommended please.(note I have seen references to Responsive Full Width Background Slider, but see it hasn't been tested w/latest WP and Soliloquy WordPress Slider Plugin)
Thanks in advance
Phil

ParticipantYou can use a third party plugin for this. Soliloquy is one option.https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/soliloquy-lite

MemberOK cool, thanks Brad - how do I associate plugin with Front Page 1 as per Infinity Pro theme please?

ParticipantYou can add the shortcode for the slider to a text or HTML widget in the front page 1 widget area.
Then you'll need to add/modify the CSS which is work required at your end.
Note : You'll also need to add support for using shortcodes in widgets.

MemberThanks Brad - I really appreciate your help.
I've tried a few different configs for the slider.
Added slider HTML widget to Front Page 1 section
Added all the shortcodes provided here
And now I see a widget/slider on front page.
However I wish for the page to be the slide covering almost the entire page real estate --below upper menu to bottom of front page 1-- to be assigned to the display of slide 1, and then the same for slides 2 & 3.
Does that make sense.
Will this plugin work for that outcome?

ParticipantShould do. There are different sliders you can use for this however you will need some coding knowledge to complete the job.

Member1. Should do? Where might I locate said code Brad.
2. Can you point me to diff. slider that might do this job please?

ParticipantI can point you in the right direction.
1. Add a slider to the front page 1 widget area. I use Soliloquy.
2. Modify the code to make the slider cover the entire front page 1 container.
Note : I don't think there's a slider plugin which can be installed and does the job completely without modifying code.
You can inspect the element, find the CSS and modify it do what you need using this tutorial. https://www.studiopress.com/using-firebug/

MemberOK, so I purchased Soliloquy, what's the code to modify slider to cover the entire front page 1 container?
September 8, 2018 at 6:26 am #223059Brad Dalton
ParticipantYou can use the free version of Soliloquy https://wordpress.org/plugins/soliloquy-lite/
The code would need to be written and tested which requires some work to be done.
