I have the Simple Social Icons positioned to the right of my header.

I want to create the same Tooltip and Hover Effect as: http://www.redbookmag.com/recipes-home/

I found this tutorial online: http://tutorial.world.edu/website-design/how-to-create-css-social-media-button-tooltip-hover-effect/ , this tutorial is a little advanced for me and it seems as though they use there own social media icons, I am looking to take parts of this tutorial and make it work with my current Simple Social Icons
Plugin.

Can this be done? It seems like it would increase click-throughs and subscribership.
