    Hello,

The website I'm creating will be a lifestyle site where I post blogs in many different categories and is currently using the Metro Pro theme.

    Screenshot of my site

I would like to set each category's template to the "Blog" template.

The problem is that although I can assign different categories to each blog post that I release, I can't seem to find a way to tell the "Lifestyle" blog page, for example, to only display blog posts that are assigned the Lifestyle category.

What actually ends up happening when I release a blog post (regardless of the category I assign it) is that all the other menu item blog pages end up displaying the same blog posts.

I have a second website that uses a non-studiopress theme that allows me to do this which looks like this:
    example pic

Any way to do this on a site using Metro Pro?

    Thanks,

    -John

You can create category menu items in the WordPress menu editor. Alternately, you can assign a query argument to a blog page to display a specific category. https://victorfont.com/use-query_args-filter-wordpress-posts/

You dont need anything for this. WordPress builds your category archives for you.

As Victor said - place the Categories on your menu. You do not need to create pages and use specific templates for this.

These are all posts tagged "lifestyle".

The last post is in multiple categories, which is why you see it on multiple pages.
