    Hi all,

I have a default footer with three widgets showing phone numbers, social media links, logo's etc.
Now I want to have a second footer, also with phone numbers, social media links etc. but the content is different (different phone numbers, different social media links etc.).
This second (or alternative) footer should be used (shown) when visiting a specific portion of the website instead of the default footer.
Can this be done, and how?.

You need to create a second footer widget area for the alternate text and display it conditionally. There's a lot of coding involved. Either that or create shortcodes to display the text and use conditionals within the shortcode output to change the phone numbers.

    Hi Victor,

    Thanks for your reply.
I'm already playing with additional footer widgets. The default footer shows 3 widgets, so I now have 6 widgets.
And I alternate between the first set of 3 to 'display: none' and the other set to 'display: block', and vice versa.
It works, but I don't really like that approach ('hacking' with CSS), although it doesn't involve a lot of coding.

So I think I try it with shortcodes as you pointed out.
That way I can keep the footer relatively clean (code-wise) and I think it is easier to maintain.
