    I'm new to Genesis and have built one custom theme, but I'm not sure how to do this. I want to change the order of the widget areas in Hello! Pro, like switching the order of two widgets so the 1st one is below and the 2nd is above.

    I tried changing the order of the register_sidebar functions in widget-setup.php but that didn't work, please point me to some directions on how to do this correctly?

    Thanks!

    The code to display the front page widget areas is in front-page.php. Edit that file to move the widget areas around.

    I tried that - I've reversed the order of these two sections because I want Testimonials above the Portfolio section, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on the widget order in the site:

    // Testimonial
    	if ( is_active_sidebar( 'home-testimonial' ) ) {
    		genesis_widget_area( 'home-testimonial', array(
    			'before' => '<div class="home-testimonial widget-area '.$section4Class.' "><div class="wrap">',
    			'after'  => '</div></div>',
    		) );
    	}

    	// Portfolio
    	if ( is_active_sidebar( 'home-portfolio' ) ) {
    		genesis_widget_area( 'home-portfolio', array(
    			'before' => '<div class="home-portfolio widget-area"><div class="wrap">',
    			'after'  => '</div></div>',
    		) );
    	}

    That's the correct way to do it. It changes the widget area display order on the front end of the site. Can you provide a link to the site?

    If for some reason you're trying to change the widget area order in the admin area, you need to change the theme's widget-setup.php, but that makes absolutely no difference for the front end display/order.

    Here's a temporary link:

    https://dev-trailhead.pte6eqsy-liquidwebsites.com/

    You can see the portfolio section is still above the testimonials at the bottom, even after making the change above in front-page.php.

    I also changed it in widget-setup.php and that had no effect on the admin display order. I'm not sure what's going on here.

    If you are changing the correct files, the only thing I can think of that may be causing the site not to pick up the changes is caching. I'm not familiar with liquidwebsites as a host so I don't know what their caching configuration is.

    I also just noticed that the theme you are using is a version of Hello Pro that appears to have been renamed to trailhead-marketing. Make sure the files you are changing are in from the trailhead-marketing folder and the hello pro folder.

    If none of this helps, then I don't know. I'm out of ideas. Consider hiring someone to take a look at the back end of your site.

    Sorry - I figured it out. Something going on with SFTP in Sublime Text, it was not overwriting the existing files. Now everything is working correctly, thanks for checking.
