I'd like to have a navigation button highlighted on homepage load, but don't wish it to be my 'home' button. The reason being is that I'd like eyes to catch my free optin nabar label.

Anyone ideas on how to do this?

    Tnx all!

How do you want to highlight it? Change the background color? Place a border around it? The way you would do this is add a custom class to the menu item and style it in CSS. To add a custom class, navigate to Appearance/Menus in the WordPress Admin area. Make sure your menu is selected in the menu editor. Click on "Screen Option" at the upper right of the screen and make sure "CSS Classes" is checked under the "Show advanced menu properties" section. Next, edit the menu item in the menu editor. You will now see a field for "CSS CLasses (optional)". Add your custom class name there and save the menu. Create the class in style.css and style it however you desire.

    Victor,

Huge thanks for this! I've worked down to adding a custom class and now need to head to the stylesheet. Just need to swot up on CSS first! Will let you know how it goes, but thanks for providing me with the logic of the sequence.
