I want to increase the font size a little. I went into the Theme Editor, changed the font sizes slightly, clicked on Update and got a 404 Error page.

I've never had this problem before, so I'm wondering if this is because it's a Third Party Theme.

If I use a Third Party theme, do I have to leave everything as it is coded? If so, what is the point in using it? Or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Having a third party theme has nothing to do with your problem. The WordPress theme editor, while convenient, is not the best way to edit theme files. FTP and a local editor is a better way and will avoid problems created by the theme editor.

Your particular 404 problem requires further diagnosis. It could be a server permissions problem. I suggest you turn on WordPress debug and examine the error logs for details.

I appreciate your responses. I've never run into these problems with any of the StudioPress themes before, which is why I wondered if it being a Third Party Theme was causing the problem.

Re: WordPress debug - is that a plugin? If not, how do I turn it on?

Re: Editing the theme - would I do this in the Stylesheet and just replace it via FTP?

    Thank you very much.
