I just removed my Google AdSense search for my blog after years of using this. So I am back to the default search.
I though I saw a code to remove the simple URL's from the blog search but not sure. I haven't used the default search feature in years but don't want my links showing up but only blog posts/pages.
I'd love to know how to do this without installing another plugin. If I have to edit the plugin, I will and will take note of it if this plugin get's updated and changes gone. Anyone got any tips for me to do this?
Simple URLs are custom post types. CPTs are not included in the default WordPress search. The default WordPress search only queries standard posts. If your search is picking up CPTs for Simple URLs, then something is modifying the search. Look for code in functions.php that adds the pre_get_posts filter. There is no setting in the plugin, but that doesn't mean there isn't code in the plugin to add them.
Can't find anything to help me in the functions and the plugin editor itself right now.
