    I use the genesis-sample as a child theme. If I add my own CSS code, it will not be recognized. Even with !important nothing happens. Changes in the original code are recognized. I know that there is the customizer option. But I want to use the CSS file in the child theme. Does anyone have an idea?

    Where are you adding the code? The Genesis Sample theme is a mobile first design, which means you need to add the code to the media queries.
