    Hi there,

I've been examining the use of Genesis Accessibility Components for older themes.

Under the guidance of some of the members of the Genesis community, I added some code to functions.php and style.css

I used the resources from the link below:
    https://my.studiopress.com/documentation/snippets/accessibility/enable-accessibility-features/

While the skip links HTML has appeared on the top left of my site, it seems I'm missing some javascript.

I say this because it's my understanding that "Skip links" HTML should be invisible in the first instance to mouse users and visible only once a keyboard user taps the TAB key.

Then the menu appears with options to skip to main content, sidebar content, footer content etc.

The following StudioPress theme demonstrates this perfectly and is the type of behaviour I'm aiming for.

    https://my.studiopress.com/themes/revolution/#demo-full

Visit the link and tap the TAB key twice. The appropriate menu appears.

By contrast, on the site I'm working on right now, I'm seeing this:

    Skip links

I can style the CSS a little more later, BUT in the first instance, I'm sure those links should not be showing unless the TAB key is pressed.

Do you think I am indeed missing some code or have I implemented this incorrectly from the start?

Looking forward to anyone who can point me in the right direction!

    Appreciate all and any replies.

    Thanks,
    Darren

You're not missing JavaScript. There is no JavaScript associated with Skiplinks. You're missing the skiplink CSS. Either you added to the style sheet incorrectly or you need to clean you cache so the css changes are picked up by the browser.

I just cleared my cache again, and this time the changes seem to have taken effect. Thanks!

@ilkweb I know this is resolved but if this is the same website you were discussing previously in Slack, I'd like to suggest that you should provide more information such as the theme you are using and indicate that it's highly customized. The reason why I suggest this is that you could be led down a rabbit hole based on the information you provided above. The more site-specific information you provide the better chances of receiving the proper answer.
