    My desktop site displays the header correctly but accessing the site from a phone or tablet shows this message in the header:
    add_action('genesis_header', 'cd_site_image', 5);

    Can anyone suggest how I fix this?

    This isn't a message and it also exists in the code for your desktop. You can't see it because it is hidden behind other elements. It is inserted in your code immediately after the body wrap. The genesis_header hook outputs the header code, including the title, description, and widget area (if necessary). It looks like you're trying to implement a custom header but not executing it correctly as php. It's being output as text. Since it's not executing, it is propably unneccessary. Look in your code for a function called cd_site_image. You have an old XHTML theme, and a lot has changed in the Genesis Framework since XHTML themes were current. Start with functions.php and go from there.

    Thanks very much Victor. I couldn't find the code in any of my functions.php files but thanks to your tip that it related to hooks I went to the website dashboard, Genesis, Simple Hooks and found it in one of the settings (genesis_before_header). Although fixed now, the problem does provide some motivation to install a newer theme.
