    Hi Everyone,

    I've been trying for hours to set-up my enews extended with Mailpoet. I can't find a good step-by-step tutorial that will walk me through it. I tried the Plug-in homepage, youtube tutorials, and so on. Does anyone know of a website that offers step-by-step instructions on how to set it up so it is functioning properly. When I do a test, it takes me to "page not found".

    I put this in the Form Action box: [wysija_form id="1"] (I'm not sure if this is correct) and I wasn't sure what to put in the fields directly below it. Or what specifics need to be filled out in MailPoet.

    I'm normally good at figuring things out, but I'm at a loss since I am fairly new to wordPress.

    Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post.

    Out of the box, WordPress does not permit shortcodes to execute in widgets. If you want to execute a shortcode in a widget, you have to add this to functions.php:

    add_filter('widget_text', 'do_shortcode');

    Besides, why would you use eNews Extended when mail poet has it's own widget forms? eNews Extended is used for adding subscribers to external mailer like Constant Contact or MailChimp. Mail Poet stores subscribers on your site.

    The search term: genesis enews extended mailpoet shows the plugin author's tutorial as first result in Google:

    Hi Victor!

    Thank you so much for your post. I appreciate that you took time out of your day to answer my question. I was setting it up this way because I thought e-news extended can be used with MailPoet. I thought the sign-up box that is created with e-news extended can be used to gather email addresses and places them in your mailing list that is within mailpoet. And that you can also use MailPoet to create actual newsletters that are sent to your subscriber list. Within the e-news extended, it has a mailpoet option. I've included an image so you can see what I'm talking about.

    e-news

    Back to what you were saying…It sounds like you were saying I can use mailpoet to create a subscriber box. instead of using the e-news extended subscriber box. I will look into doing that.

    Thank you for taking the time to post.

    Hi Christoph,

    Thanks for the link and screenshot. I saw that website also, but was still unable to make it work. I told the client last night that I wanted to use MailChimp (there are tons of tutorials for using MailChimp with enews extended) But he said he wants to use MailPoet not MailChimp. So back to the drawing board. I need to set it up so when the subscriber box is filled out, the client gets a notification email, and the subscriber email address also gets added to the mailing list. I'm just not sure how to fill out mailpoet and enews so that it works properly. I'll keep researching. Maybe I will try using MailPoet to create a subscriber box like Victor mentioned.

    Thanks again,

    Jeanne : )

    Hi Victor. Just a note to say thank you. I took your advice and made the subscribe form in MailPoet and it was very easy to set-up. Jeanne
