    Hi there,
I'm a Minimum user and I've been experiencing not-so-good results for my blog homepage on Google test drive.
    https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.matteoduo.com%2Fblog

Specifically I'd need to fix the following issue:

    • Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content

Is there a way to solve this issue for a someone who doesn't know much about Javascript and CSS?
    Thanks,
    Matteo.

These are the three scripts it recommends removing:

    http://www.matteoduo.com/…S1L1cjPzAA.js.pagespeed.ce.Wmpbak3q_B.js
    http://www.matteoduo.com/…5LRy83MAwA.js.pagespeed.ce.oKvfQx7EmC.js
    http://www.matteoduo.com/…i7KLCgpBgA.js.pagespeed.ce.DWqlBA6zb6.js

Are those scripts you've installed on your site manually or through a plugin? They're not default Minimum scripts. 🙂

I'm not a speed pro, but it looks like whatever you're using to minify/cache causes more slow down than it saves time.

    Cheers,
    Carrie

    Hi Carrie,
I removed those scripts thanks! I think I've installed them through my hosting provider some while ago (there was a "speed" feature" somewhere in the settings page.

About minify/chache: I use the W3 Total Cache plugin.
The problem is, if I don't enable it, I get awful results. Once I enable it, I get minify/cache issues.

I don't know how to get out of this nightmare 🙂

    Anyway, thanks for you tips.

I have a same problem here:
    https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?hl=en&utm_source=wmx&utm_campaign=wmx_otherlinks&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.beogradskiosmeh.com%2F&tab=desktop
"Your page has 14 blocking script resources and 17 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page."
Do we have plugin (or some solution) to move JS and CSS "below-the-fold" cos all Studiopress themes have same problem?
Site is: http://www.beogradskiosmeh.com with a WP Super Cache plugin.

    Hi there,

Looking at the URLs of the javascript & css, the bulk of that is coming from various plugins installed and activated on the site. Deactivate all the plugins, then check the pagespeed report again and see what the number looks like. It should be dramatically lower. jQuery is one of the first javascripts loading. That's because it'a a requirement for a great number of scripts out there and it has to load first or they break. I wouldn't worry about that one if it's loading from inside wp-includes.

The problem of plugins littering javascripts and css all over the place isn't new but it is a hassle. Ultimately you may need to look for some alternatives to the plugins that are better written. If you have to have the plugin, unless it has a way for you to have it load its scripts & styles in the footer, you're kind of stuck.

As for the minification issues in W3TC, I've encountered those, too and don't have an answer on that point, unfortunately.

    Thnx for Reply,
I "must have" these plug-ins so, is it possible to have all plugins packed in footer?

Any useful updates on this subject? I have encountered the "Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content" message on Google PageSpeed Insights. I really don't want to use a plugin but may have to unless someone can help with this.
