eleven40 Pro: visual editor missing

Hi,

I have upgraded the plugins and wordpress and suggenly an issue started happening, which is missing visual editor. I tried many steps but did not help. I am running latest Genesis and wordpress.

1. Tried disabling and re-enabling all plugins, it did not help.

2. added the folliwng code to wp-config.php, but did not help.

There's not much we can do to help as a community of volunteers to help with an issue in the admin area. As a theme framework, Genesis doesn't do anything with the visual editor. To test though, you can switch to a default WordPress theme. If it doesn't clear the problem, the issue is very likely a plugin conflict. You'll have to run through the standard plugin conflict troubleshooting steps. Also, turn on WP Debug to see is there's anything showing up in the php error logs. Good luck with this.

Hi, I had the same problem and found out that Jetpack is causing it. I contacted their team today and this is their answer below. I followed their recommendation and the visual editor is now working perfectly - hope this helps:

"There is a known conflict between the new Jetpack contact form and any plugin that uses a TinyMCE text editor.
Our developers are working on a fix for this, and you can follow their progress here for updates:

Meanwhile, the simplest workaround is to install and activate this plugin, which should resolve the conflict:
https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack-addons/archive/disable-grunion-editor-view.zip
You can download that to your computer and then upload it to your site via Plugins > Add New by clicking the 'Upload Plugin' button.
When the next version of Jetpack is released, it should be safe to remove that temporary plugin."
