    Ok, I've spent entirely too much time trying to figure out how to make a post template for my custom post type. I am using the Refined Theme. My custom post type is prayer_requests.

    I've tried about 5 different naming conventions (based on WordPress hierarchy) and tried different locations within the file structure. There are plenty of articles on non-genesis type themes, but very little on using genesis/child themes. I reached out for support on the refined theme creator's site, but pointed me to studio press forums. I did a search, but nothing that stood out.

    Any help would be appreciated. Btw, I'm a novice, but pretty good at using Google and copy/paste.

    Thanks!!!

    Hi Victor.

    I have a custom post type called prayer_requests that I am trying to remove the header/footer and display some custom fields (created by Advanced Custom Fields plugin).

    I am using Gravity Forms for user generated content (prayer request) which creates the new post. I am then using Content Views Pro plugin to display prayer requests in a grid.

    When user clicks "read more" the prayer request is then displayed in a light box. The issue is that the header and footer are still showing because it pulls the post in. So the ACF display and header/footer removal appear to be driving the custom post template creation.

    Hope that helps paint the picture a little better.

    I assume there is a single.php I could just copy and rename single-prayer_requests.php, but the only one I could find is in the Genesis framework itself. I don't think that's what I'm looking for.

    Create a file named single-prayer_requests.php and add the opening PHP tag

    <?php

    and

    genesis();
