Custom.css file issue

Hey,

In a local environment, I've added a custom style sheet via the following code in functions.php:

/* Adding custom CSS file*/
function enqueue_custom_stylesheet() {
wp_register_style( ‘custom-css’, get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . ‘/css/custom.css’ );
wp_enqueue_style( ‘custom-css’ );
}
add_action( ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘enqueue_custom_stylesheet’ );

However, the code in the file doesn't get picked up at all.

I've placed the custom stylesheet in a folder called css in the genesis-sample folder.

I've followed the instructions stated

What am I doing wrong?

The code you posted won't work with curly quotes. They need to be straight quotes.

I wonder if we should sticky a post about curly quotes, it comes up often enough that'd probably help people -- esp with the prevalence of copy pasta coding these days.

Was the curly quotes issue. Didn't even notice it in Atom...
