    Hi,

I've been at this all day trying to research and test the best way to create a custom Archive page in Genesis (child theme, Enterprise Pro theme), but to no avail. I could really use some help on this!

This is what my client wants her Archive page to look like:

    1. The Archive page needs to ONLY list recent posts from a SPECIFIC category (no pages, categories, authors or monthly)
    2. The posts need to ONLY show the post title
    3. The post titles need to be listed in a 3-column format

Is this at all possible? I sure hope so. It's the only thing I have to complete on this website I've been working on.

Thanks, in advance, for your help!

    Warmly,
    Aletha McManama

    Kellylise,

This is so much closer to what I was looking for. Finally! Where would I edit the functions code to only pull in one category? I wouldn't want all the categories listed on this page, especially one called "Testimonials". It would not look good in the columnar format.

Again, you're help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

    Warmly,
    Aletha McManama

You can create a custom archive page for a taxonomy. Here's a link to the WordPress template hierarchy that will help get you started:

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Hierarchy

Since you're modifying the actual loop, you will want to use your own custom loop by removing the Genesis default and hooking your new one to the genesis_loop hook. Here's the basic structure:

You can also create a custom query if needed.

    Hopefully that helps.

    Thanks, Ren.

Can you add the basic loop structure info? I noticed you said, 'here's the basic structure', but there's nothing showing underneath it.

    Thanks!!!

    Warmly,
    Aletha

Sorry about that. I must have forgotten the link:
