I want to create a sales type squeeze page that is centered and not take up full width of the page something like this

    http://start.growthlab.com/behind-the-sales-page

I am using the Smart Passive income theme, is it easy to create a new page template?

Was trying to work with columns but couldn't get anything to work

Smart Passive Income has a landing page - https://demo.studiopress.com/smart-passive-income/templates/landing-page/, which most of the Genesis themes come with. Most people use the Landing Page for Squeeze Pages.

    Great post!

Would you please give me a few tips on how to actually activate the landing page as the actual Home Page for directly landing eg. "SampleURL.com" right there on the home page.?

lanzelo, You set a static home page on the WordPress admin - > settings -> reading page.

Make sure you disable any front-page widgets otherwise the widgetized home page may override the static home page.
