We're using the forum plugin bbPress. If you set a content limit of any kind in Genesis theme settings, our forums don't function properly. The forum entries are essentially an archive of a post type. Under Genesis ?’ Theme Settings ?’ Content Archives, we set it to display post content without a character limit. Now, when a search term is entered, the full content of any post that includes a reference to the search term(s) results. This is not ideal. What we would like to be able to do is have a content limit on just the search archives and the blog post archives, not on the forum which is again, a certain post type.

We think it will require some PHP additions/alterations in functions.php. We think to target the search we reference(?) if ( is_search() ){}.

Although we would like to be able to limit the blog post archive, the most important thing we need is a content limit on the search. If you could help us with either or both, that would be fantastic. We are using Genesis and a substantially customized Minimum. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

Figured it out - the bbPress Genesis Extend plugin solves this problem 🙂
