I found some nice CSS fro a Studiopress blog written a fair while ago https://www.studiopress.com/colored-content-boxes-buttons where I added both 'Content Box' and 'Color Buttons' to my site's stylesheet.css

However, even after adding the updated .button and .content-box the changes aren't visible changes on my site.

I added the .content-box class to the body of the and .button-redclass to the main image on the page.

The .button-red code has been implemented using the blox plugin, if that makes a difference.

You've got broken HTML. This is what I see when I view your source code:

    <div><a class="button-red"></p>
    <p style="text-align: center;"><strong>Access the BHA’s magazine online</strong></p>
    <p></a></div>

    It should be:

    <div><a class="button-red">Access the BHA’s magazine online</a></div>

    Thank you for pointing that.

However, the CSS isn't having an effect on it.

Clear your caches. The colors are fine when I looked at your site.
