I was wondering how can the font color for the hero title and description be changed. I use firebug and it shows me where to change it but I can't find it in css.

    What theme?

CSS on the front page may be in style-front.css.

The css is in style-front.css at line 59. The title (h2) is batched with a bunch of other elements so you might want to separate the title out so changing the color doesn't impact everything else.
