    On this site I'd like the columns to be conjoined on large screens without losing the responsive versions. Now when I have the window fully expanded I get a space between the content and the sidebar. Is it possible to cause the content to expand width-wise on the large screen while keeping it immediately beside the sidebar?

    You can make the columns any width you would like. The CSS for mobile is handled in the media queries you'll find near the bottom of style.css. The adjustments for mobile and desktop can be different.

    The content and sidebar are child elements of the content-sidebar-wrap div. Your content-sidebar-wrap is set to 1140px. The content area is 660px and the sidebar is 350px. The total width of content + sidebar cannot exceed their parent. So you safely can expand the content area to 790px (1140 - 350 = 790) without issue
