    Hi -

I'm hoping for a CSS snippet to auto-adjust footer widget height to expand to content, AND make all columns equal height

I recall a solution from some time ago involving 'nth' but have no idea how to proceed.

    Thanks

You could use display: flex with the widgets or use the jQuery match height extension: https://github.com/liabru/jquery-match-height

thank you, I missed the notify email, thus delay in appreciation
another thread I missed, has https://css-tricks.com/snippets/css/a-guide-to-flexbox/ link to start explaining flex

there is actually a wordpress plugin to add the matchheight jquery
