    Greetings!! I'm making a custom design using Genesis Sample and I'm looking to add a unique background color to the left footer widget of the page and have all the others black (just like the Digital Pro Theme). What I did was add the following on the Footer Widget CSS code:

    .footer-widgets-1 {
    	margin-right: 60px;
    	background-color: #e85555;
    }

    This accomplished what I want, but the problem is that left of the widget 1 area is black. The background color I added is not extending to the left to fit larger screens. Is using the background color of the .footer-widgets.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    To accomplish what you want with the genesis Sample theme, you have the change the max-width of the genesis-footer-widgets wrap. Add this to your style.css:

    .genesis-footer-widgets .wrap {
        max-width: 100%;
    }
