    Hello all,

    I recently updated from an older version of the Genesis Sample theme to the current 3.0.1 version, and was very disappointed to find that the update got rid of a Header Widget that had been part of the site design I'd developed.

    I'll admit - I am not a developer or programmer - I fly by the seat of my pants most of the time. I'm not afraid to look up CSS references if I need them, and have no worries about editing the php files that make up the theme's skeleton. However, I'm lost and wouldn't know how to begin to try to re-add that Header Widget that was in Genesis Sample 2.3 back into version 3.0.1.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Cindy

    Very disappointing! A lot of the changes are a little disappointing. Hopefully this one can be added back in

    Remove the following lines from functions.php:

    // Removes header right widget area.
    unregister_sidebar( 'header-right' );

    Thank you again, Victor, for your assistance!
    Using my host's file manager, I commented out the active line, and the header widget was back.

    Now, I am going to research how to restore the tagline under the site title, and how to right-justify that widget.

    @kandycej - I hope you find this useful too.
