I too have used VC for Genesis but I honestly feel that almost all the features are easily handled with either a bit of know how or free plugs, such as Andrea's suggestion.

My knowledge of code is almost zero but after a while you pick things up.

If there's one thing I do know..........
Too many plugins cause bloating and complications down the road.
For the most part it's best to handle style/layout issues with CSS.

Visual composer does work on genesis, I have used it. There is also http://www.wpexplorer.com/symple-shortcodes/ which is free and very easy to use.

Is it possible to use the Visual Composer plugin on the Genesis platform? Having no luck finding it yet I've read that it does work on some forums.

If not, what is the best way to create different columns on a specific page? Need to create 3 columns for different classes. Thanks!

Hi,

I'm trying to wrap my head around the following....
I'm building a website (xammp local for now...) with a vertical menu system like the 'sixteen nine' theme, so my main menu is on the left.

I want all of my normal static info pages have a small footer menu. I don't want to add this to the vertical menu as it will become too busy.
And in addition, my 3 static gallery pages will also have a submenu at the top, to toggle between these galleries.
The submenu has to show AFTER the breadcrumbs.

I could add the menu('s) quickly as html/css block on a page, but that will make it a hassle to edit or add links to the menu's. I would rather use the additional menu's created in WordPress for this to keep things dynamic.

I read about plugins, hooks, templates and coding, but not sure how to address this. For side menu's it's a lot easier with the widgets and things. Still working my way through Genesis, but I'm getting more comfortable with it... 😉

Oh, and I use 'Visual Composer' to design my pages btw.
I hope I explained this properly, and any tips, links etc. will be greatly appreciated.

I bought Genesis and installed VC last night and seems to be working ok. What's wrong your end?
Maybe you have another plugin causing issues.

I was going to post here about using VC with either Genesis Extender or Dynamik, has anyone tried it?

If I am understanding you right, you are looking for a Toggle function? If so there is a plugin called Visual Composer than has this feature.

Yes I also bought Visual composer but apart from testing it, I have not done much with it.

when VC is disabled, the page leaves lots of messy code, while page builder seem better when disabled,

only which PB had so many nice features as VC..

I am glad VC works for you, it gives me more encouragement to implement it also on live site

I use Page Builder and it works just fine. There is no need to customize CSS and it loads fast enough.
Visual composer work great as well. I have a VC slider on my homepage.
So far they both provide frequent updates.

Thanks for you help flamenco, that did fix the arrow but unfortunately it left the slider still broken. I found out that it conflicts with my visual composer plugin. Ill use another slider plugin as an easy fix, thanks for you help though.
