I have the same problem, but I solve it with the plugin Simple Hook Genesis, that allows to add code to the subject without modifying the file functions.php: http://my.studiopress.com/documentation/genesis-simple-hooks/plugin-usage/add-code-to-your-child-theme-with-genesis-simple-hooks/
