It is required for accessibility. The Genesis development team recently released v3.0 Beta. There's a lot of overhead removed in the new version. The planned release date is June 19th.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?May 31, 2019 at 8:09 am in reply to: Can I modify a Genesis WordPress theme website developed for me? #491437Victor FontModeratorYes. The theme has nothing to do with how you add content. That's all WordPress. All the theme does is display your content.
Linking to a real estate search engine may require some theme mod, but it all depends on how you plan to link.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?May 30, 2019 at 12:54 pm in reply to: Can I modify a Genesis WordPress theme website developed for me? #491425Victor FontModeratorGenesis is a theme framework also known as a parent theme. The Genesis framework is never modified.
The child theme that the developer is building can be modifed after he's done, any way you'd like. Modifying a child theme requires some knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS< and jQuery, all standard web languages.
Child themes are never auto-updated, but you will continue to receive updates for the Genesis Framework as long as you're using a Genesis child theme.
You never have to purchase any Studio Press products to make it all work. The only thing you won't have is access to Studio Press support unless you purchase the Genesis Framework for yourself.
Does that help?

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorI use CSS Grid and flex in all my projects these days. Maybe this will help with understanding how to work it with Genesis: https://victorfont.com/customize-the-genesis-header-with-css-grid-layout/
You can see the CSS grid in the header and footer of this site: https://formidable-masterminds.com/
The site is still under construction and not fully released for another few weeks, but you can examine the header and footer code.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYour theme, Studio Pro, is not a Studio Press theme. It is a community marketplace theme by SEO Themes. Community marketplace theme developers support their themes directly. As the creators, they will be most familiar with the theme and be able to provide you with the best support. Please contact the Seo Themes support team for further assistance.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe transparency is working fine. The problem you are experiencing is because of removing position: fixed.
When you removed position: fixed, the default position: static; replaces it regardless of whether you specified it or not. Static positioning works similarly to relative positioning. Everything that was underneath the header before you removed fixed positioning has been pushed down into its relative position. There's nothing under the header now to show through the transparency except white space.
To fix this, change your CSS to this:
.front-page .site-header { background-color: rgba(116,0,0,0.5) !important; border-bottom: 1px solid transparent; max-height: 500px; position: relative; } .front-page .site-inner { top: -100px; max-width: 100%; padding-top: 0; position: relative; }

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou replaced the $content with the custom field rather than adding the field to the content.
What you might want to try is this:
$output = $content . "<br>" . genesis_get_custom_field( 'source_type' ) ? $field : $content;

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe header image is a background image. Different rules apply to background images.
Your CSS only floats the anchor to the left. The background image position is controlled by the background-position directive in your CSS. To move the image to the left, change the background-position to:
background-position: top left !important;

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorTry this:
add_filter( 'genesis_structural_wrap-header', 'add_div_to_structural_wrap', 10, 2); function add_div_to_structural_wrap( $output, $original_output ) { if ( 'close' == $original_output ) $output .= '<div>Test</div></header>'; return $output; }

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorSearch.php is the search results page template. Copy it from the Genesis directory into your child theme directory.
The title is HTML is found in this code:
$title = sprintf( '<div class="archive-description"><h1 class="archive-title">%s %s</h1></div>', apply_filters( 'genesis_search_title_text', __( 'Search Results for:', 'genesis' ) ), get_search_query() );
See the H1 in that code? That's the title tag. OF course, removing the H1 and replacing it with something else is going to break SEO. Every page needs to have one H1 tag for SEO. If you want the H1 to be smaller, just change the associated CSS to use a smaller font size. This way you won't hurt your SEO and still achieve the desired result.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThe theme has absolutely nothing to do with analytics. Analytics take place either at the server level (raw data), or browser level (Google Analytics). Most modern browsers block Google Analytics and other analytics tools that work at the browser level if tracking and/or add blocking is disabled, which is the default for many browsers these days.
Reporting wise, Google analytics provides some very detailed reports, but there will always be discrepancies between what Google reports and what the server reports. Google will always show lower numbers, sometimes significantly lower.
I have one client where the server shows 500k+ page views a month and Google reports about half that amount. That discrepancy can't be attributed all to bot traffic.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?May 24, 2019 at 5:20 am in reply to: Showcase Pro: How to reduce line spacing on a landing page #491327Victor FontModeratorKeep in mind that the front end of the site and the editor use different style sheets. There will always be a difference, especially when you start working with Gutenberg. It's a pain, but if you want everything to be an exact match, you have to modify the editor style sheets, which is a much easier process with Gutenberg.
Use your browser's built-in inspection tool to find the CSS that controls the front end line height. Then, edit it in style.css.

Creating a drop down menu for Wellness Pro is the same as any other WordPress theme. Use the Appearance/Menu page and drag and drop the pages under the primary menu item.
Wellness Pro has the sub-menu navigation depth set to 1. If this is inadequate, edit functions.php around line 153 to change it.
