August 11, 2017 at 12:10 pm in reply to: how to automatically share new blog posts on goodreads, amazon author page, etc #210267Victor FontModerator
I use the pro version of this for my sites: https://www.nextscripts.com/social-networks-auto-poster-for-wordpress/.
Never heard of one that works with Goodreads or Amazon author page.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorOther than some bad HTML for the Go Outside button, I can't find a cause for the scroll action. It indicates that there's something extending beyond the right margin of the page, but I can't find it.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYour issue could be related to the new text widget introduced in WordPress 4.8. The new text widget uses the TinyMCE editor and reformats code. This has been changed in WordPress 4.8.1, but you may be better off using our Classic Text Widget plugin available in the WordPress respoitory. There are additional paragraph and line break tags that are pushing your ad content down. These need to be removed.
Your CSS is off, too. This will help you understand the Genesis header layout: https://victorfont.com/understanding-genesis-framework-site-header-layout/
The first thing I would do is adjust the site header padding at line 839 in style.css:
.site-header { background-color: #ffffff; padding: 20px 0; padding: 2rem 0; overflow: hidden; }
This removes the left and right padding to align the header with the rest of the site.
Next, you have to widen the widget area to match the ad dimensions and include a max-height dimension at line 912.
site-header .widget-area { color: #fff; float: right; width: 728px; max-height: 90px; }
This will do it for you, but you won't achieve a complete result until you remove those additional breaks.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThis forum is for the Genesis Framework and Studio Press themes. You question is purely about SEO and is off-topic for this forum. You may be lucky enough to have one of the community volunteers answer your question, but you'll probably get a faster response if you pose your question in a forum dedicated to SEO.

//* Force full width content layout add_filter( 'genesis_site_layout', '__genesis_return_full_width_content' ); //* Remove site header elements remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_header_markup_open', 5 ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_do_header' ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_header_markup_close', 15 ); //* Remove navigation remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_do_nav', 12 ); remove_action( 'genesis_header', 'genesis_do_subnav', 5 ); //* Remove breadcrumbs remove_action( 'genesis_before_loop', 'genesis_do_breadcrumbs' ); //* Remove site footer widgets remove_action( 'genesis_before_footer', 'genesis_footer_widget_areas' ); //* Remove site footer elements remove_action( 'genesis_footer', 'genesis_footer_markup_open', 5 ); remove_action( 'genesis_footer', 'genesis_do_footer' ); remove_action( 'genesis_footer', 'genesis_footer_markup_close', 15 );

The colors are there and the table looks fine. Chrome is notorious for not updating style sheets after they've been downloaded once. Clear the browser cache and refresh the page.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorThey actually shouldn't interfere with each other. By moving the home.js code to functions.php, you are now applying it to every page on your site. You also changed the code to apply to every link on your site. If you are testing for conflicts, just don't enqueue home.js at all. If Ubermenu works when home.js is not loading, then you know you have a conflict. If Ubermenu still doesn't work, the problem is with Ubermenu or a conflict with another jQuery script.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorYou really need to provide a link to the site to check for jQuery errors. If Ubermenu has its own scroll to function, why are you still using Altitude Pro's?

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorHmmm..., you've got the right emoji for your question. I'm not sure there's an easy way to accomplish what you want. The question here is how do you identify and apply a CSS class to specific comments based on user.
The comments structure in Genesis eventually calls the WordPress core wp_list_comments() function to output the actual comments. These list items are echoed directly to the page. There are no filters in this function that can be used to add a CSS class. I really don't think you can do this, but good luck finding out. I hope I'm wrong.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorCustomizing a plugin, any plugin, is a lot of work. You basically have to make a copy of the plugin, rename it, and modify it to make your own custom version. If you customize a plugin without renaming it, the next time there is an update, all of your customizations will be lost.
The Genesis Author Pro plugin has 5 templates that you could copy into your child theme directory and possibly modify them to provide some of the functionality you want. Other than that, unless you're a highly skilled PHP developer, or have the budget to pay a skilled developer, there's not a lot you can do to customize the plugin the way you want. When I say budget, it could easily cost you upwards of $2,000USD for someone to spend the time modifying the plugin. It's not the kind of help you'll be able to get from a community volunteer based forum.

You have 1 full-width, 6 halves, and 1 full-width. You are most likely experiencing a caching issue if that's not what you're seeing.

Have you requested your free website audit yet?Victor FontModeratorWith the approach you are using, you would have to create different widgets for each of the templates. There are a couple of different approaches that could provide a better result.
- You could use standard pages with custom fields. The custom fields would hold the product details for the page and your template would display the custom fields.
- You could use custom post types.
- You could use standard posts and categorize them
