I'm copying this directly from another thread:
It can be done, but before you do anything, I'd recommend reading up on responsive design to make sure you really want to disable it. There are a LOT of good reasons why responsive design is the way of the future.This is a great article totally independent of all Copyblogger services
http://dallasbass.com/5-reasons-why-...tely-worth-it/If you are sure you wish to disable responsive design, delete the responsive section from the style.css file. This is near the bottom and labeled responsive. Most of the code will be indented so it should be very easy to identify. You also need to remove the viewport meta from the functions.php file. It will resemble this code
PHP Code:
/** Add Viewport meta tag for mobile browsers */
add_action( 'genesis_meta', 'child_add_viewport_meta_tag' );
function child_add_viewport_meta_tag() {
echo '<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0"/>';
}SusanModeratorLet's see if we can bump this and get this taken care of.
SusanModeratorHappy New Year! Welcome to the forum!
SusanModeratorhttp://my.studiopress.com/snippets/footer/
the shortcut to call the current year is:
echo 'Copyright © ';
echo date('Y');But that won't give you what you are looking for. I believe your best bet is to use the snippet to customize the footer (shown at the end of the link above), and adding in the 2010-2013.
SusanModeratorlliillaa - do you have the Prose theme? That's the only theme where you wouldn't plug it directly into your functions file - that theme is set up differently than the other themes.
SusanModeratorYou're welcome!
SusanModeratorWelcome back!
It looks like I need to get my hands dirty with template files, PHP and CSS. I want to develop a general understanding of what the code is doing, but I don’t intend to learn these languages. Am I asking too much?
I don't think you're asking too much. Before I started with studiopress, I knew nothing about PHP and CSS. I'm not a technical expert, but hanging around the forum, and working on my own website, I just jumped right in, and learned along the way. And, yes, a novice can do this by copy/pasting, asking questions, getting pointed in the right direction to tutorials etc. That's where we come into play here on the forums.
Ok, onto your site:
You've got two ways of approaching this - you can start with one of the free themes, in which case, you've got a foundation to build upon - the sample theme is a good start - you can download it here:
http://www.studiopress.com/free-themes/sample
Here's a tutorial for getting started with the sample theme:
http://my.studiopress.com/docs/building-child-themes/
By starting off with a free theme, you don't have to create any of the behind the scenes templates, you just have to layer on elements.
If you want to start from scratch, here's a good tutorial:
http://www.artofblog.com/building-a-genesis-child-theme/
SusanModeratorIt goes in your functions.php file.
SusanModeratorSorry the code didn't look elegant in my response. 🙂
SusanModeratorGo ahead and rename your home.php to something else (say "oldhome.php).
Then, remove this from your stylesheet:
.home #wrap, .home-page #wrap, .blog #wrap {
background: url(images/wrap.png) top center no-repeat;
margin: 0 auto 0;
padding: 0;
}.home #inner, .home-page #inner, .blog #inner {
width: 100%;
margin: 0;
}SusanModeratorYou too!
SusanModerator@snakeair - I see that Nick responded to it. I marked it as spam (I don't have the ability to move posts from that forum), I'll let Nick unmark it and move it if he feels it is appropriate.

/** Customize the return to top of page text */
add_filter(
'genesis_footer_backtotop_text'
,
'custom_footer_backtotop_text'
);
function
custom_footer_backtotop_text(
$backtotop
) {
$backtotop
=
'[footer_backtotop text="Return to Top"]'
;
return
$backtotop
;
}
SusanModeratorYou're welcome. 😉
Closing this thread as resolved.
SusanModeratorCan you please post a link to your site? Thanks.
December 30, 2012 at 6:53 pm in reply to: MInimum Theme: Add LOGIN Widget on the front picture #8488SusanModeratorCan you please provide a link to where you are seeing the login information? I'm not seeing it on the Minimum theme on either Studiopress or wordpress.com
SusanModeratorOK, I'm back with your instructions:
http://www.studiograsshopper.ch/dynamic-content-gallery/configuration-guide/
SusanModeratorI should have looked at your code before responding - the Executive theme has the Genesis Responsive Slider, which I wrongly assumed your site would have. The instructions I provided were for the Genesis Responsive Slider.
You have the "Dynamic Content Gallery" plugin. Let me dig further to assist you... I'll be back shortly.
December 30, 2012 at 6:04 pm in reply to: Enterprise Theme – Replace WP-Cycle with Genesis Slider #8481SusanModeratorIn the Enterprise theme, the WP-Cycle slider is in the HomePage Top Widget. Just install and activate the Genesis Slider plug-in, and move that into the HomePage Top Widget, and remove the WP-Cycle slider.
Are you looking for a tutorial for using the Genesis Slider, or just specifically for switching out one slider for another?
SusanModeratorDebs linked to a tutorial, but you may not have access to it, so I've taken the liberty of including this here:
http://www.studiopress.com/support/showthread.php?t=82871&highlight=author+gravatar+post+title
From user AnoopSudhakaran on the old forum
Paste the following code in functions.php of your Child Theme to enable the Gravatar in the Post Title on all pages (Single Post,Homepage etc.):
Note: Change the 25 to the size of Gravatar you want.
function title_avatars() { ?>
<div id="avatar-title">
<?php echo get_avatar( get_the_author_id() , 25 ); ?>
</div>
<?php }
add_action('genesis_post_title', 'title_avatars');If you would like to add it only on the Homepage then use this code:
function title_avatars() {
if (is_home())
{ ?>
<div id="avatar-title">
<?php echo get_avatar( get_the_author_id() , 25 ); ?>
</div>
<?php } }
add_action('genesis_post_title', 'title_avatars');If you want to get Gravatar only on Single Pages:
function title_avatars() {
if (is_single())
{ ?>
<div id="avatar-title">
<?php echo get_avatar( get_the_author_id() , 25 ); ?>
</div>
<?php } }
add_action('genesis_post_title', 'title_avatars');Style it using CSS
#avatar-title {CSS HERE} [Tip : Use Firebug to edit in realtime]
