My for your first question is not to use Microsoft Word as a text writer - that application formats text to make it look nice for documents etc., but wasn't designed for adding text to web applications (from years of working with Blogger, it does that same thing, so I know it's not WP specific).
I recommend writing posts in plain text format in something like notepad or textpad. Then, when you copy and paste, there is no formatting needed to be stripped out.
As far as graphics - if you're saving them in a jpg. or .png format, they will be treated as any other kind of image by your media library, and can be inserted into your post like any other kind of image - if you chose "image aligned left", your text will appear on the right of the image.

January 15, 2013 at 11:07 pm in reply to: Support Tickets are a JOKE!!!! Really, Studiopress??? #12215SusanModeratorHi, Robin - I'm sorry you haven't seen any response to your help ticket. Is it possible that it's gone to your spam folder? Most of the moderators on the forums (myself included) do not work for StudioPress, so we have no ability to look for tickets which you have submitted. I can see if I can escalate this thread for you, so that someone who is in a position to help you with your ticket can look for it.
SusanModeratorIf you look at the site you linked to, the menu items are actually categories. You would need to create categories for the items you would like, and then go to Genesis > Menus > Custom Links, and type in the URL for the category (for example, the URL for your "featured" category is http://glittermeetsglue.com/?cat=50), add to menu, and then indent them under the Clipart Menu item.
SusanModeratorThanks, Marc for that suggestion - sounds like an easier solution than the one I offered!
SusanModeratorRead this about WordPress Multisite
SusanModeratorDid you enable your menus under Primary Navigation and/or Secondary Navigation?
Here's a tutorial on setting up menus:
SusanModeratorBecause issues are in many cases not theme specific, there are no theme forums here. You can ask your questions in this forum, or in the Tips & Tricks forum: http://www.studiopress.community/forum/design-tips/
To make it easier for users to help you, we recommend that you include your site's URL, which theme you are using, and be as specific as possible in your title, and tags.
SusanModeratorSusanModeratorI don't know if you are still seeking an answer to your question, as this is an old post, but this thread may assist you:http://www.studiopress.community/topic/how-do-i-remove-link-between-image-post/
SusanModeratorTo move your primary navigation to above your header, insert this into your functions.php file:
/** Reposition the primary navigation menu */ remove_action( 'genesis_after_header', 'genesis_do_nav' ); add_action( 'genesis_before_header', 'genesis_do_nav' );
edited to correct code - it didn't copy correctly.
Here is the link if you want to see the code:http://my.studiopress.com/snippets/navigation-menus/
SusanModeratorHere's a thread where someone wanted to move the nav. bar off a particular page (it doesn't work for a home page with no ID), but it will answer your question for doing it the long way...

SusanModeratorYou're welcome. I'll close this thread as resolved - go ahead and start a new thread if you have more questions.
SusanModeratorHave you tried Simple Sidebars? It allows you to allocate your sidebars on a post/page basis:
http://www.studiopress.com/plugins/simple-sidebarsSusanModeratorThanks for letting me know. I can't tell you the number of times I've crashed my site - it's scary the first time. If you want to reach out to the developer, send me an e-mail (through my blog), and I'll give you her e-mail address.
SusanModeratorTo get your blog back - go to your hosting site, and upload a fresh copy of your home.php.
SusanModeratorThe site title is what shows up in the browser bar, so if it's not pulling that in, there's some other issue. Is this issue new? When did you first notice the issue? Have you made any recent changes to your site (upgraded? new plug-in?)
My recommendation at this point is to disable all your plug-ins, and see if the issue resolves itself. If it does, go ahead and re-enable your plug-ins one by one, and see if one of them is the culprit.
SusanModeratorThanks, @EddierNaranjo.
For those users who are unable to access the old forums, the directions were:
edit the home.php file and either set a value for the featured_content_limit or set the featured_image_size value to 0
SusanModeratorAre your Content Archives set to display content, or excerpts? Have them display content, and then try it again with that line removed...
SusanModeratorJust had to add - I just looked at your avatar - is that a Merry Cox piece? I love her stuff (I'm a cross-stitcher...)
