December 7, 2015 at 12:34 pm in reply to: CSS or Short Code to setup Clickable Areas in Headers #173035sunnypapabearMember
Where do I specify the link for the Clickable Title? Right now I don't think there is anything set for it.
December 5, 2015 at 7:38 pm in reply to: CSS or Short Code to setup Clickable Areas in Headers #172850sunnypapabearMemberOkay, I separated the image of me/dragon from the image of the text and put the me/dragon in a Right Header. Works fine and I can click on it and get to the Link.
However, if you look at the Front Page the text image extends way too far to the right. I tried to cut it back, but it just stretches all the way to the right? I played with the CSS code you gave me, but can't seem to get the right settings :0( And once I figure out how to make the text fit in the space I want, how do I make it clickable?
Again any further advice would be more than welcomed.
sunnypapabearMemberDid all this with the Premium Plugin Genesis ClubPro -- their Backstretch functionality took care of the above.
November 18, 2015 at 12:06 am in reply to: Different Font Color for Links & Hovers in Sidebars #171390sunnypapabearMemberWorked great. Thanks
sunnypapabearMemberThe solution was to add the following to the Genesis Custom Code:
#title-area {
text-indent: -9999px;
}sunnypapabearMemberThanks, all working great now.
sunnypapabearMemberWorked fine. Thanks
sunnypapabearMemberI realize I should know all this, but I have been learning how to build this site over the last couple of weeks, starting from a point of remembering a little HTML from long ago and never having edited CSS. This is pretty much the last thing I have to do to finish the website.
sunnypapabearMemberOkay, I am now trying Simple Edits, using some of what I have seen in the references provided. Still nothing. Below is a snapshot from Simple Edits. Again, I want to add some other items (Contacts, About, etc.)
sunnypapabearMemberI appreciate your feedback, but not sure how that helps me do what I want to do; which is to either modify standard Meta or use Genesis Footer Builder to remove certain options and add others?
November 6, 2015 at 9:08 pm in reply to: Adjust Sidebar sizes in sidebar-content-sidebar Prose theme #170375sunnypapabearMemberBummer, in Genesis Design Settings I Unchecked the Minify CSS box and tried to change the Sidebar and Sidebar-alt settings -- Nada, nothing :0(
The current working code in the Genesis Custom Code is:
#sidebar {
float: left;
padding: 10px 10px 20px 10px;
width: 240px;
margin: 10px 0px 10px
}
#sidebar-alt {
float: left;
padding: 10px 10px 20px 10px;
width: 150px;
margin: 10px 0px 10px
}I changed it to the below (reducing Sidebar from 240px to 220px, then increasing Sidebar-Alt from 150px to 170px) -- the only thing it did was drop the Sidebar-Alt to underneath the Content :0( Not sure why it did this as I didn't change the total amount of pixels for Sidebar-Alt, Content, Sidebar?
#sidebar {
float: left;
padding: 10px 10px 20px 10px;
width: 220px;
margin: 10px 0px 10px
}
#sidebar-alt {
float: left;
padding: 10px 10px 20px 10px;
width: 170px;
margin: 10px 0px 10px
}Any other suggestions????
sunnypapabearMemberHere is what I am looking at. You can see the box is Unchecked yet it still shows up on the screen.
sunnypapabearMemberOkay, I deactivated the Genesis Custom Header.
You said
“Appearance > Header” (the Customizer opens); X-out of the Customizer to the “Custom Header” screen, uncheck “Show header text with your image.”When I go to “Appearance > Header”, the Customizer does open). When I "X-out of the Customizer" it doesn't take me to any “Custom Header” screen, it just takes me back to the Admin Panel.
This is driving me crazy. I have spent hours trying to figure what file the Title and Description might be in so I can edit it -- and hopefully still have the info show up in the User's browser. I've looked through tons of files with no luck.
sunnypapabearMemberI am running Genesis version 2.2.3 I do NOT have the Display Header Text checked and as you can see, the text still shows.
And I don't have the “Show header text with your image” in the Genesis Customer Header. Below is what I have.
sunnypapabearMemberSorry that didn't work. I unchecked "Display Header Text" and it did nothing. And at least in my Admin panel, there is no "Show header text with your image" field on the "Custom Header" screen. You can see what it looks like at http://PeterCruikshank.com/dev
November 2, 2015 at 9:13 pm in reply to: Adjusting Padding & Margins in Prose Theme – Genesis ClubPro #169961sunnypapabearMemberYes I noticed that as well, but some really strange things happen. If I reduce the sidebar by say 30px and increase the sidebar-alt by a corresponding 30px, the sidebar-alt doesn't change? I was also thinking of making the entire "inner" area a little wider -- maybe to 1,000, but not sure if I can do that without messing things up. Bottom-line, I would like to make the sidebar-alt a little wider and willing to give up some of the sidebar width if necessary, though being able to make sidebar-alt a little wider without giving up width on content or sidebar would be preferred.
November 2, 2015 at 9:09 pm in reply to: Adjust Sidebar sizes in sidebar-content-sidebar Prose theme #169960sunnypapabearMemberIf I deactivate minification of the CSS, won't that really slow down the website. Or do I just deactivate it so I can make the changes to the width of the sidebars and content, on the home page, then reactivate after I make the changes?
October 31, 2015 at 12:54 am in reply to: Adjusting Padding & Margins in Prose Theme – Genesis ClubPro #169694sunnypapabearMemberInteresting. I got the padding to work for #content and #sidebar-alt, but I can't seem to pad the Primary Sidebar; which I assume is #sidebar
I put the following in the Genesis Custom Code (css) to get what you currently see at http://PeterCruikshank.com/dev
#content {
float: left;
padding: 10px 10px 20px;
width: 410px;
margin: 10px 10px 10px 0px
}#sidebar-alt {
float: left;
padding: 10px 10px 20px 10px;
width: 140px;
margin: 10px 0px 10px
}#sidebar {
float: left;
padding: 10x 10px 20px 10px;
width: 280px;
margin: 10px 0px 10px
}October 30, 2015 at 3:53 pm in reply to: Adjusting Padding & Margins in Prose Theme – Genesis ClubPro #169671sunnypapabearMemberIt did work after all. I had to put it in the Custom CSS.
October 30, 2015 at 3:31 pm in reply to: Adjusting Padding & Margins in Prose Theme – Genesis ClubPro #169669sunnypapabearMemberIt didn't change anything :0( I made the changes you said in the Style sheet, but maybe there is something over-riding the Style sheet???
