    Hi,

Thank you but that wouldn't work because the Featured Posts do not have the nice effects that the Featured Listings do with the "View More" box, etc. I would rather rearrange manually.

I need to write to the Genesis development people to suggest they add a sort capability to their Featured Listings widget. I am sure that many people want this capability. Unless I am just missing something here.

    Hello WisdmLabs,

Thank you for your response. The plugin, "AgentPress - Featured Listings" doesn't give an option for "Sort Order". I wish it did!!! It just says "How many results should be retuned?" That is the only option.

Are you talking about another plugin? If so, can you please give me the name? This is going to be really painful if I have to manually delete the listings and then add them all back-in in the order that that I want.

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Hello Tom,

I am sorry for the delayed response. I greatly appreciate your thoughtful answer. I figured out what I did. I had catologed the post under two categories and forgot to add that second category as an exclude in that list so it was showing up. I simply overlooked that. Sometimes it's so simple...

    Thanks again,
    Stacey

    Hi Brad,

I ended up just using the Genesis Featured Posts for one blog post because it saves all the correct CSS for the headers, etc. I am satisfied with this. Just wish that I could put underneath "View all Blog Posts" under the excerpt (like it does for all the other categories underneath) and it would link to my blog page but that's okay.

Thanks so much for all your help!

    Hi Brad,

    Yes, here is the site:

    http://www.vflredesign.virtuesforlife.com

It is a development site but I will leave it online so that you can take a look for as long as I can. You'll see nothing shows on the Home page for "Latest Blog Post" because I am not able to get it to work. The top spot widget is a Genesis Featured Page, and I selected the blog page and logically I would think that would work but it doesn't.

    Thanks!

    Hi Brad,

Thanks for your response. I am sorry. I am just not following the logic of the tutorial. If I create a page called Portfolio, then how would I assign the published post to a portfolio category? It didn't say to create a portfolio category. It said to create a portfolio page. Usually can figure these things out but it's really stumping me.

Can you tell me exactly where I would assign the post to a portfolio category?

    Hi Brad,

Thank you for your answer. I don't know what hook a new widget in before or after your blog page content means. It sounds too advanced for me and definitely overwriting the home.php file too. I thought there would be a simple way to just get your blog posts from your blog page onto the homepage as a widget and then have it lead right to "View all blog posts", just like you can with all the other categories.

Perhaps I can create a blog category and copy all my posts in there but then it might mess up the feed.

    Hello Brad,

Thank you for your response! If I use the Genesis Featured Pages, which I must have to if my Blog is a page and not a category, then I will not get that cool feature of "View More Posts" like it has with the Genesis Featured Posts. You see what I mean?

So basically what I am trying to do is put, on my home page, a bunch of widget categories using the Genesis Featured Posts, which works great! However, when it comes to wanting to show a widget for the blog which I will call, "Latest Blog Posts", I am not able to use the Genesis Featured Posts because I cannot select my Blog because it is a "page", not a category, so I have to use the Genesis Featured Page widget, but it doesn't have the "View all Posts" feature like the Genesis Featured Posts does. There is probably a simple fix to this, but I just can't think of it.

    Any help is appreciated!

P.S. My site is under development and is in a subdomain of the site listed here so you cannot see it the way I have it unfortunately. It will be a short excerpts on the homepage of categories using the Featured Posts widget.
