MemberHi,
It's definitely the Jetpack plug-in. This morning I disabled it before publishing a post and the post failed to share to social media as before. Very strange since I have the "Publicize" feature turned off.
Thanks,
Melissa

MemberHi,
I have a test site where I removed the meta data from the post excerpts displayed on the home page :
Yesterday I moved the theme files and customizations over to the official site. Everything went well except now the meta data has returned on the post excerpts on the home page.
I'm stumped as to why the customization did not transfer over and I've used Firebug for the last two hours to trouble shoot and still cannot get it resolved. Trouble is I made this change over a month ago so I have plum forgotten what I did.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
mstoey
MemberJust wanted to let you know I resolved the issue. Wasn't coding at all but the Genesis Featured post widget that I completely forgot about (that's the trouble with letting too much time lapse between testing customizations and actually implementing them.)
The Genesis Featured Post Widget needed to be placed in the Home Top widget.
Happy for you to resolve this thread.
Thanks again for you help.

MemberThat should read "no changes took place." On to more troubleshooting.

MemberThanks. I linked to my two sites and that was enough to block it. I deleted them and finally got it to post.

MemberUsing the tool you suggested Susan, I compared both the functions.php file and style.css files of both sites and they are identical. I don't think I would have done any customizations to the Genesis theme since that's a no-no but just in case I did, I copied the Genesis folder from the test site to the new site and now changes took place.

MemberI'll try that. Thanks!

MemberOne thing I will point out is, the change I made only changed the meta data on the home page excerpts and did not remove the meta data from the top of the post itself (on the test site.) When you open the post, you can see the meta data under the title and the tags are still appearing in the footer.

MemberNo, not a plug-in. I did it by editing some code but for gosh sakes I can't remember where. And as I said, I copied the theme files and customized files (in fact the entire wp-content folder) from the test site over to the new one. I'm still working on it and completely stumped. Can't believe I made a customization and now can't remember how I did it. 🙁
