I installed Genesis for the first time on my blog this weekend. I also installed the Lifestyle Pro theme. Since then I've noticed that my blog is automatically sharing my posts to Facebook, Google + and Twitter. I do have the Jetpack plug-in installed and the sharing option activated but I never told it to connect to my social media sites. I only placed the sharing buttons at the bottom of my posts, I have not activated the "Publicize" feature by connecting services to my social media accounts (and it doesn't show in each post as being activated either.)
Since I had to log-in to WordPress.com to use the Jetpack, I'm wondering if there is some setting there that is causing the sharing (I've never used WP.com, so not sure.) However I'm wondering if this might related to Genesis somehow or my theme
Any help appreciated.
Genesis definitely doesn't post to social media accounts automatically, so I would guess there is some kind of plugin doing it for you. I use Jetpack on all my sites (no sharing or publicize enabled) and have never seen that happen. Can you provide a list of all your plugins?
It's definitely the Jetpack plug-in. This morning I disabled it before publishing a post and the post failed to share to social media as before. Very strange since I have the "Publicize" feature turned off.
