    I am using two Genesis Widgets in my sidebar. One is the Genesis User Profile widget, the other is the Genesis featured posts widget. The images in those widgets show up when someone wants to pin an image from my site. I want to hide them from Pinterest because I do not want my profile picture or the less than optimized featured posts images to be pinned.

    Hi Victor,
    Thanks for wanting to help.
    The single conditional tag was actually a typo, and should indeed have been is_home.

    Alas your code does not work. In fact it doesn't even render the slideshow on the homepage.

    I have gotten so far as rendering the slideshow on the homepage as wanted.
    When adding my second conditional tag in that hook I have been able to render the table BUT alas it showed up in the same div as the slideshow on the home page.

    Apart from not knowing how to combine the codes it seems as if a more pressing problem is that my shortcode won't work on category pages at all.
    I have tried replicating the exact code I successfully use in that hook for the homepage and just change the conditional tag to the category page, with no results

    Seems as if even used in the hooks section with "execute short code on this hook" I can't make a shortcode render on a category page.

    Yes! It was your code I was fighting with.

    Look at how it looks now:

    Pretty proud of that. Now to get the shortcode working in the description section......

    Resolved.

    For future reference for anyone else running into this question.

    I got it to work by adding the same code in twice in a row in my stylesheet.

    .archive .post {
    display: inline-block;
    width: 25%;
    padding: 2%;
    }
    .archive .post {
    display: inline-block;
    width: 25%;
    padding: 2%;
    }

    Don't ask me why but when I accidentally added it twice it worked, when I deleted the first (or second) occurrence it stopped working. So now I have two code bits and I added my customizations to the second and everything is working.
    For the life of me I can't understand this, but as long as it is working I am okay with it.

    Seems like our responses crossed.

    I removed the custom archive page, just to make sure their were no conflicts. I am not trying to do it via CSS and it seems the problem lies with the css code entirely. See my previous response.

    Hi thanks,

    moving my css to a different part of my stylesheet solved most of my problems.

    I am now capable of making changes to the archives file (like removing meta data and the content title font).

    BUT

    These lines simply do not work:
    .archive .post {
    display: inline-block;
    width: 25%;
    padding: 2%;
    }
    .post does not seem to 'call' the entries on the page. I have tried alternatives like .content .entry , .article, .entry-content, and every other possibility or combination I could think of. But those entries just don't budge, I can't make them go inline block, nor can I make them change their padding, or do anything else (I even tried display: none; just to double check ). I also tried adding !important

    So how to I ' call ' the entries on my archive page?

    Any ideas?

    See it here not working:

    Hi thanks of replying.

    I tried both ways (using some of your tutorials btw) but I can't get it to work.
    I have tried every possible combination of .archive, .archive-page etc that I could think of and that my source code seemed to use, but however I try to 'call' that archive page in my stylesheet it doesn't respond.
    I am mainly concerned with the padding of the items on that page, it inherits it from the main content and I want to change it on archives pages only.

    here is an example of one of my archive pages:

    Thanks!

    I was able to separate my h1 and h2 classes, although I can't really figure out where it is exactly defined what is supposed to be h1 and h2 or h4 sidebar titles for that matter.

    Anyway this still doesn't let me give the featured post on the homepage a different h class as the teaser posts.
    Will have to live with it I guess.
