No worries & good luck! -M
MikeMemberI believe that is a navigation menu. Check the configuration for the footer navigation menu.
MikeMemberAwesome. Good to hear.

I tested it with an image size of 400 x 299. I used it on the page titled "Third Page". You can check it out at my test install

MikeMemberSorry Renee. Wish I could be of more assistance. You should be able to fine tune with my second post if I'm understanding you correctly. But, I may not be. 😉
November 16, 2015 at 9:02 am in reply to: Enterprise Pro – Home Bottom featured image smaller #171266MikeMemberHi teamaherl,
You might want to double check that your fourth Genesis - Featured Page widget setting is actually configured to use the featured-image (358x200) and not slider (1140x460). I've had that happen myself.
Hope that helps.
MikeMemberOk, let’s see. How about if you go to line 513 and locate .post & .entry and make the following changes:
ORIGINAL
.post { border: 1px solid #e1e0e0; margin: 0 0 20px; position: relative; } .entry { padding: 15px; margin-bottom: 50px; }
NEW
.post { border: 1px solid #e1e0e0; margin: 20px 20px; position: relative; } .entry { padding: 30px; margin-bottom: 50px; }
MikeMemberHow about this...
In styles.css go to line number 490 until you find #content.
ORIGINAL CODE
Note the value for the left & right padding at 40px and the width of 600px. You will want to change those.#content { -moz-box-shadow: 0 0 3px #bbb; -webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 3px #bbb; background-color: #fff; box-shadow: 0 0 3px #bbb; float: left; padding: 25px 40px; width: 600px; }
CODE WITH CHANGES
Try a value of 20px for the left & right padding and a width of 640px.#content { -moz-box-shadow: 0 0 3px #bbb; -webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 3px #bbb; background-color: #fff; box-shadow: 0 0 3px #bbb; float: left; padding: 25px 20px; width: 640px; }
Hope that helps.
MikeMemberHi Peter,
From the Admin Dashboard go to Genesis > Theme Settings
On the Theme Settings page scroll down to a subheading called Content Archives. The first option in the Content Archives section is a dropdown menu with "Display Post Content" and "Display Post Excerpts". I believe if you select "Display Post Content" and then limit content to something like 200 characters, this will make the "Read More..." link display. I think this should address the blog page.
Are you using the Genesis Featured Post widget on the homepage? If so, this widget has something similar where you will need to set a content character limit to force the "Read More..." link display.
MikeMemberTo change the padding on your posts, hopefully this will get you started.
Open the style.css and locate the setting for .post.
It will be on or around line 512.
You should see something very similar to the code below..post { border-bottom: 5px solid #eee; margin: 0 0 25px; position: relative; }
Adjust the left and right margin by something substantial so you see the difference.
Something like 50px like the code below..post { border-bottom: 5px solid #eee; margin: 0 50px 25px; position: relative; }
Then, in the style.css file, locate .single .post around line 518.
Do something similar as you did with .post..single .post { border: none; margin: 0 50px 25px; }
Lastly, you likely want to adjust the comment area as well.
Again, in the style.css file locate #comments on or around line 1322.
Add the same margin value as you did for the .post and .single .post to match#comments, #respond { margin: 0 50px 15px; overflow: hidden; }
Hope that is what your after.
MikeMemberHi beautyfool,
To answer your last question regarding post format images, go to your style.css and locate the setting for .post-format-image. It should be around line number 929.
The original looks like this:
.post-format-image { -moz-box-shadow: 0 0 5px #bbb; -webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 5px #bbb; background-color: #ddd; border: 1px solid #fff; border-right: none; box-shadow: 0 0 5px #bbb inset; display: block; left: -101px; overflow: hidden; position: absolute; top: 0; }
If you think you might want to use it later, just comment the style out and insert a display: none on it like below:
.post-format-image { /* -moz-box-shadow: 0 0 5px #bbb; -webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 5px #bbb; background-color: #ddd; border: 1px solid #fff; border-right: none; box-shadow: 0 0 5px #bbb inset; display: block; left: -101px; overflow: hidden; position: absolute; top: 0; */ display: none; }
MikeMemberThanks for the update Dan. And Brad, thank you for the hint! This issue is in the functions.php file on or around line 120-121 I found the following code:
$post_info = '[post_date] // [post_author_posts_link] [post_comments] [post_edit]'; return $post_info;
All you have to do is remove [post_comments]. That leaves you with the following:
$post_info = '[post_date] // [post_author_posts_link] [post_edit]'; return $post_info;
This seemed to solve the issue on my test install with the BG Endless theme.
MikeMemberHi seekdestroy16,
If you don't mind installing a plugin, a solid solution would be the Genesis Simple Edits plugin developed by the same folks who created Genesis which contains a field titled Entry Meta (above content) where you can remove the post date easily. Pretty bullet proof.
MikeMemberHi Peter,
It looks like you got it. Is that correct?

MikeMemberI performed a local install of BG Endless theme to test and can confirm Dan's findings. The code doesn't seem to work. I then installed & activated Genesis Simple Edits and pulled the comment shortcode and that did the trick. I know you don't want another plugin but thought I would let you know what I found.
MikeMemberI suspect this doesn't have to do with as much with Balance as it does the profile setting.
From the WordPress dashboard try going to Users > My Profile and check the field titled Display name publicly as. If you would like to change that value, select something different from the dropdown menu. If there are no other values, provide a first name (for the first name field), a last name (for the last name field) and/or a nickname and Save.
Then go back into the profile page and select another value from the dropdown menu under Display name publicly as. The value you select will change what is displayed.
Hope that helps.
MikeMemberHi JNewman,
Something I've gotten tripped up on using Outreach is the mobile setting on the Genesis Responsive Slider plugin that is required for the Outreach theme to perform like the demo. Assuming you've downloaded and installed the Genesis Responsive Slider plugin, you might want to make sure that in its configuration you have the "Hide Title & Content on Mobile Devices" option unchecked.
So, from your admin panel go to Genesis > Slider Settings > and scroll down to Content Settings. Under this subheading is where you will find the "Hide Title & Content on Mobile Devices" option. Uncheck it.
Hope that helps,
Mike
MikeMemberThanks kmpro! Great stuff on that and from carasmo as well.
MikeMemberFor those who are less code savvy, a solid solution would be the Genesis Simple Edits plugin developed by the same people who developed Genesis which contains a field titled Entry Meta (above content) where you can remove [post_comments]. I prefer Brad's solution, but for the less code-savvy folks, this works very well.
