I can't think of what I might have installed that may have removed the titles (like I said, I'm pretty inept when it comes to WP), but there's a good chance I did something by accident. Is there a piece of HTML that I can insert somewhere that would make the blog titles come back?

Thanks for your insights braddalton. I didn't realize that the blog page attribute was removed in the new versions. Luckily the new blog posts are still showing up on my blog summary page as I wanted them to. However, the titles are still missing.

Were the titles also removed as part of the new Genesis updates?
