    Thank you for your help on this, it worked beautifully along with afew more entries to that area:

    .nav-primary {
    position: relative;
    top: -175px;
    text-align: center;
    z-index: 999;
    }

    I corrected all of the spacing in the mobile menu by adding the following code into the media queries section:
    .genesis-nav-menu .menu-item {
    border: none;
    display: inline-block;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0px 0 0px;
    text-align: center;
    }

    However, I still do not know how to get the spacing between the header widget and the menu closed up. Any ideas anyone?

    ok - I followed the directions I found on this site on how to move the Menu after the Header - it said to modify the Functions.php and remove the before header and add the after header - will look into Hooks, thank you.
