I am having this same issue. Would like to have the ability to only display featured images when I actually set a featured image. Having this problem with multiple genesis themes.

Hi there, thanks for this information. But how do I configure the settings if I only want the featured images to show in the POSTS that actually have assigned featured images and not in the PAGES?

Trying this but it's not working. Am I doing this right?
