krystynParticipant
Hmmm...tried 1-9 and it still won't move it. It's probably because of something in the plugins, but I hate to edit that because it often gets written-over in updates.
krystynParticipantThanks! I only tried bigger numbers, not smaller!
krystynParticipantUnfortunately, it still goes beneath the social sharing and the linkwithin, but hopefully, there is another fix for that?
For anybody looking:
/** Add after post ad section */ add_action( 'genesis_after_post_content', 'blissful_after_post_signature', 9 ); function blissful_after_post_signature() { if ( is_single() ) { echo '<div class="after-post-signature">'; echo '<p><img src="URL OF IMAGE" />'; '</p>'; echo '</div><!-- end .after-post-signature -->'; } }
krystynParticipantNo. Sorry, where do I actually put the link to the image that I want to be the signature? Within that code? I know the code itself goes in functions.php.
Sorry....it's been a long day.
This is what I currently have in the simple hook:
<?php if (is_single()) { ?> <img src="http://69.195.124.59/~domestq0/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/nicole.png" /></a> <?php } ?>
krystynParticipantOkay, php is my nemesis....where do I put the actual image for the signature code? Between the two echo lines?
krystynParticipantIs that what you used to register your widget? I have to go back and remember how to do that.
Also, what is the 9 for at the end of the first line?
With the code you have there, it looks like it would have the same impact as using the simple hooks that I did? I did it right in the genesis_after_post_content as well.
krystynParticipantYes, I'd want them to go all the way across the page (isn't that what full-width is considered). I'm pretty decent at CSS, just wasn't sure in Prose because there are two places to edit CSS which place would be best.
krystynParticipantI figured it out. For anybody that wants to know, I used:
/*sub bullet points*/
.archive-page ul li li,
.entry-content ul li li {
background-image: url('URL OF IMAGE HERE');
background-repeat: no-repeat;
padding-bottom: 10px;
padding-left: 30px;
padding-top: 5px;
}you'll have to adjust the padding according to your image size and text.
krystynParticipantI *think* so. I think it's an old redirect from moving to blogger years ago!
krystynParticipantHmmm..I deleted that first line and everything works. I wonder if we can figure out why the heck it's there.
krystynParticipantYes, I can do that....I'm worried about the first line in the file (I'm helping somebody out and I'm not sure why it's there)?
RedirectMatch permanent ^/[0-9]{4}/[0-9]{2}/([a-z0-9a-]+) http://buriedwithchildren.com/$1
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule># END WordPress
krystynParticipantYou are correct, changing them back to custom makes them not work again.
Also, this was an issue with a previous theme (thesis) as well.
krystynParticipantThanks, Eric. As far as I know, it has never worked.
I've also checked to make sure that page counts=10 to see if that helped.
The permalink is set to: http://www.buriedwithchildren.com/sample-post/
When I change the permalink structure to the default, those pages and subsequent pages work
http://www.buriedwithchildren.com/?m=201004
http://www.buriedwithchildren.com/?m=201004&paged=2So, I'm thinking (based on more checking) is that there is something on the server/hosting side that isn't correct with mod_rewrite enabled?
krystynParticipantThank you! I was messing with the menus instead of the header (doh...because the menus are in the header for this one). Thank you SO much!
krystynParticipantGood catch, thank you!
For the "navigation" menu" when it drops to two lines (mobile, narrow screen), I'll need to add more space underneath it so that it doesn't go into the posting area. I'm assuming it's another 'margin:0 auto' but not sure where to place it.
krystynParticipantThank you, Greg! You are right, I missed the .wrap rule.
And of course, that worked perfectly for the mobile part.
The logo works on the iPhone screen just fine...I wonder if there is anything smaller than 300px wide?
krystynParticipantThanks!
krystynParticipantAlso, just took a look at the iphone and the "logo" is layered underneath the navigation and the first post text is on top of the logo as well.
krystynParticipantThank you! Yes, I did a little post editing. Next time, I'll just add a new post.
That definitely did the trick for the navigation bar (I just have to fiddle with it as I think I want it aligned left). But, I have no idea about the screen sizing for the logo part. When I increase my browser width, it's like the logo is pinned to the right side of the screen. Would it be better to position it next to the "navigation" in some way? (Which yes, the navigation is in the header widget...that's good, right?)
krystynParticipantThanks, Greg. I've got the title area right and the navigation left, but I can't get the "logo" or the actual header image to go right. I've uploaded it in the "header" section of genesis and maybe that's not the right way...but do you have a suggest for that part? Do I need to upload the header as an image and make it the background of the title area?
Scratch that. I did add the header image as the background to the title area...now I've just got to figure out how to get rid of the space under the new "navigation" and how to force it to the left aligned with the post area.
Also, I moved the test site here...that should help: http://www.krizzydesigns-test.com/test2/
