Thank you.
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberI've solved this...my dimensions fit my needs, so you may or may not need to modify the width of the widgets, especially if you add a 4th widget and keep 3 along the bottom. I only used 3, so one on the top Footer 1, and two below, Footer 2 and 3. Basically you just modify the footer-1 CSS by taking out the float:left; command and increase the width to the full width of the footer.
here is what I did:
I modified the CSS for footer-1 to:
.footer-widgets-1 { padding: 0 10px 0 0; width: 910px; }
I then modified footer 2 and 3 accordingly:
.footer-widgets-2 { float: left; width: 600px; } .footer-widgets-3 { float: left; width: 295px; }
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberyes, and it actually puts my content below the footer widget area. I need it above the footer widget area. I assume that the before_footer is actually before the site footer, not the footer widget area.
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberI was able to add some code using the Genesis Simple Hooks plugin. Thank you
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberThere are plenty of image sliders out there. Studiopress has the Genesis Post Slider, pics do come off of posts though.
iThemes makes Carousel, which will allow you to choose the size of the slider and also what images go in the slider. It is not linked to any post or page.
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberSo I got the 3 widget to 2 widget thing figured out. Apparently my browser was super slow in showing the changes.
But, I do still need a top widget area above these two, spanning the entire width.
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberIt is working properly now....I had too much margin on the top, which was pushing the menu down...I removed that by about 5px and the menu now works as it should.
Thank you
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberJust in case anyone else has this issue....it appears that if you don't have a Primary menu defined this can happen on some of their layouts. I wasn't to the point of defining pages yet, but once I did and put in a menu, it lined up as it should.
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberSince the site is in process of having the DNS updated, I'll put in the CSS code for the header menu below, I'm not sure you'll be able to see the site since it is moving:
#header ul.nav, #header ul.menu { float: right; margin-top:20px; } #header ul.nav ul, #header ul.menu ul { float: right; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } /*#menu-item-15 { -khtml-border-radius: 5px 0 0 0; -moz-border-radius: 5px 0 0 0; -webkit-border-radius: 5px 0 0 0; border-radius: 5px 0 0 0; } #menu-item-15 a { -khtml-border-radius: 5px 0 0 0; -moz-border-radius: 5px 0 0 0; -webkit-border-radius: 5px 0 0 0; border-radius: 5px 0 0 0; } */ #header ul.nav li, #header ul.menu li { background-color:#FFF; float: left; list-style-type: none; height:35px; } #header ul.nav li a, #header ul.menu li a { color: #051b49; display: block; font-family: 'Droid Sans', arial, serif; font-size: 16px; margin:0; padding: 10px 13px 0; text-decoration: none; text-transform: uppercase; height:35px; } #header ul.nav li a:hover, #header ul.nav li a:active, #header ul.nav .current_page_item a, #header ul.nav .current-cat a, #header ul.nav .current-menu-item a, #header ul.menu li a:hover, #header ul.menu li a:active, #header ul.menu .current_page_item a, #header ul.menu .current-cat a, #header ul.menu .current-menu-item a { background-color: #051b49; color: #fff; height:35px; display:block; } #header ul.nav li a .sf-sub-indicator, #header ul.menu li a .sf-sub-indicator { display: block; overflow: hidden; position: absolute; text-indent: -9999px; } #header ul.nav li li a, #header ul.nav li li a:link, #header ul.nav li li a:visited, #header ul.menu li li a, #header ul.menu li li a:link, #header ul.menu li li a:visited { background-color: #FFF; border: 1px solid #051b49; border-top-width: 0; color: #051b49; font-size: 11px; padding: 5px 10px; position: relative; text-transform: none; width: 138px; text-transform:uppercase; margin:0; } #header ul.nav li li a:hover, #header ul.nav li li a:active, #header ul.menu li li a:hover, #header ul.menu li li a:active { background-color: #051b49; color:#FFF; } #header ul.nav li ul, #header ul.menu li ul { height: auto; left: -9999px; position: absolute; width: 160px; z-index: 9999; } #header ul.nav li ul a, #header ul.menu li ul a { width: 140px; } #header ul.nav li ul ul, #header ul.menu li ul ul { margin: -31px 0 0 159px; } #header ul.nav li:hover>ul, #header ul.nav li.sfHover ul, #header ul.menu li:hover>ul, #header ul.menu li.sfHover ul { left: auto; }
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberI just put in a support request to them, thank you. Since it isn't widely used yet, I feared the forum not offering much help.
Thank you
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberGot it. Thank you. I didn't realize that was how it was setup.
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberThank you. I did notice the line height, so I tried modifying that with no success, but the display:block; did work.
Thank you
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberThank you, so then I should design the image at the largest possible max width, which in this case would be 341px?
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberGreat, that would max out the image, and if my math is correct, my largest image possible on the top-left at 30% is 341px and the smallest is 230px (going off the media sizes).
So am I correct in making an image that is 341px wide but keeping the important content that needs to be displayed inside 230px?
So the 230px version would mostly be maxed out and the 341px version would have some space on each side?
Thank you
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberTutorial was perfect, easy enough I added another widget area. I wanted to keep the Home and Sidebar areas as they were, so the tutorial was the best solution. Thank you.
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberThank you, this is in the right direction, but I really need to move the Footer Widget area....sorry I should have been more specific. I assume this could be done the same way, but if you move the Footer Widget wouldn't I also need to move the footer?
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberThe link you posted isn't a complete link....it is obviously missing a domain extension like .com, .net, etc. and several other pieces that would make it a valid link. The link is set to go to "GIVING" which of course doesn't go anywhere because it isn't referencing anything specific on the web. Notice the link you put in doesn't come through as a hyperlink either....just text.
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberThanks for the post, but the link isn't functioning.....looks like it is missing at least a domain extension.
Thank you, Jared
keyelementmediaMemberkeyelementmediaMemberThank you for the reply. I've finally started the build and I actually ended up modifying all the 960px widths to 100%, making the site stretch on any monitor.
However, in regards to the slider, I can't seem to get he arrows to show. I do have that option selected in the Slider Settings, but they don't seem to show.
Thank you, Jared
