    I'd like to add a top section to magazine pro that appears on the home page above the home middle and sidebar.

    I've put in the widget areas I would like, home-top-left and home-top-right, and I've added in a DIV home-top-section via the front-page.php file.....my widget areas do appear, however they are to the left of the sidebar and I'd like it to span the entire width of the site above the side bar.

    This is the first HTML5 theme I've tried make any significant change to and I'm sure I'm missing something simple.

    The widget areas are all inside a function called magazine_homepage_widgets I'm assuming whatever I want to do will need to be done outside of that? But I'm not exactly sure how to accomplish that.

    This might help http://wpsites.net/web-design/add-2-responsive-widgets-side-by-side-in-genesis-2/

    However, you could duplicate the existing front-page.php widgets and change the widget i.d's using the same div classes

    is_active_sidebar( 'home-middle-left' ) || is_active_sidebar( 'home-middle-right' )

    Which hook position did you want to use?

    Tutorial was perfect, easy enough I added another widget area. I wanted to keep the Home and Sidebar areas as they were, so the tutorial was the best solution. Thank you.

    Thank you, Jared
