kerawebMemberNo problem.
I recently made a plugin for this feature and more. It allows the user to add all the default column classes (including the "first" class) to all widgets in their site. (note: it does require a theme that supports this!)https://nl.wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-widget-column-classes/
kerawebMemberHi Dave,
It's still a development site so its only available for my own IP.
Here is the code:
<div class="footer-widgets"> <div class="wrap"> <div class="footer-widgets-1 widget-area"> <div class="inner">**MULTIPLE WIDGETS**</div> </div> <div class="footer-widgets-2 widget-area"> <div class="inner">**MULTIPLE WIDGETS**</div> </div> <div class="footer-widgets-3 widget-area"> <div class="inner">**MULTIPLE WIDGETS**</div> </div> <div class="footer-widgets-4 widget-area"> <div class="inner">**MULTIPLE WIDGETS**</div> </div> </div> </div>
And here is the functionality for the template:
div.footer-widgets -> white background (white), 100% width
div.wrap -> none (it was allready there.. but no use for me since it wraps all the widget areas)
div.widget-area -> width 25%, paddings for separation of the widget areas
div.inner -> the widget area background (light gray)The reason I needed to do this is because when I put the background on the widget-area div, the padding will have that background aswell (instead of the white color of the footer-widget area.
And when I make the padding of the widget-area a margin the width's won't make 100% together but more. (I have all elements set to box-sizing: border-box).
This was the only way I could think of to make the 4 widget areas equal with (25%) plus let them have separate backgrounds with a white line in between.I could also use the widgets for the gray background, but that won't work either since I'm equalizing the heights of the widget-areas (looks neat) and I want the gray background to be equalized as well.
Plus despite of the above... ALL the other genesis widget areas have this hook, so why not the footer widget areas?
Thanks, Jory
