Hello Victor,
Apologies for the late reply and thank you for the Classic Text widget plugin -- saved me!

jrotemParticipantOK! I needed the new Classic Text Widget. I thought adding remove_filter('widget_text_content', 'wpautop'); was supposed to help.
All good now!

jrotemParticipantThanks, Victor.
I should have specified that what I need to do is insert a woocommerce product carousel into a front page widget. If it is not working, does that mean it's the plugin that needs updating? Edit: I also entered the short code per the video and only the code itself appears. There must be step I am missing.

jrotemParticipantI figured it out. The css class was eluding me. But I can't figure out how to delete this post!, lol!

jrotemParticipantFinally got around to this -- worked a charm. Thank you!

jrotemParticipantI will try that. Thank you, Victor!

jrotemParticipantOK, I adjusted the .site-header .wrap with a max height of 0. It worked, but I'd like to know if that was the correct way to do it. I also move the header widget social icons to the footer. Now I'll try moving them back up to see if it affects the spacing.

jrotemParticipantThank you! Thank you!
I added it to the stylesheet and it works.
I had previously tried adding it to the custom css file and it didn't work. Should have tried the regular stylesheet from the beginning.

jrotemParticipantActually I am using a different social share plugin that allows more customization, but I wasn't sure where to put the page id code above (or if share-before would be correct with the different plugin.) I will look up how to define a custom body class.
Thank you again.

jrotemParticipantThank you again. Alas, that code did display the title (yay) but also displayed right under the title the social share plugin (boo.) Would you have any idea how to adjust the code on that tutorial so that only the title shows ?
“It’s always something.” — Rosanne Roseannadanna
jrotemParticipantThank you, Christophe.
The featured page widget does not generate pages. It shows a selected page in a widget area.
You are correct. I did not realize that (or rather, had forgotten that I had created one way back.)
I did manage to fix part of the problem with the Genesis Sandbox Featured Content Widget.
However, the Page title still does not display: http://new.darrylepollack.com/favorite-posts/

jrotemParticipantAnyone?
Bueller?
“It’s always something.” — Rosanne Roseannadanna
jrotemParticipantOK, I see now that the difference is that /favorite-posts/ is a page generated from the "Featured Page" widget and not the "Featured Posts" widget. (d'oh.)
But I'm back at the beginning -- the page itself does have a title on the back end, so I'm still left wondering why the title does not display on the page.

jrotemParticipantIt now all makes sense! Thanks so much. I hadn't been able to figure out what "/201c" meant until I saw the "/f205" fontawesome code. As you predicted, I stuck with straight quotes in the end although I did go back and forth, and if my client want curly quotes I can do that now. 🙂
Thanks again! 🙂
“It’s always something.” — Rosanne Roseannadanna
jrotemParticipantI thought they were originally curly quotes but I must have been wrong (or the first time I saw it it was defaulting to some serif font instead of Open Sans, since obviously Open Sans was not being applied.) I think I'll just resize them, leave them as Open Sans "smart" quotes and move on for now. I really appreciate the help. At least i have the font working correctly.
“It’s always something.” — Rosanne Roseannadanna
jrotemParticipantYes but without the fix I'm looking for! 😀
Any other ideas? Thanks so much!
“It’s always something.” — Rosanne Roseannadanna
jrotemParticipantOops -- + for functions.php but not stylesheet. Changed all to Open Sans.
Alas, marks are still small. And now straight, not curly.
“It’s always something.” — Rosanne Roseannadanna
jrotemParticipantOh, I've been kicking myself since I started learning Genesis! :))
In functions.php and in stylesheet isn't it supposed to be written Open+Sans? I thought I had changed it properly but maybe not everywhere. Checking...
“It’s always something.” — Rosanne Roseannadanna
jrotemParticipantThank you. I did; it just messed up the spacing. I do now think, however, that although I've added Open Sans to be the font for this element, I must have done something (which I can't find) and that it's defaulting to generic sans serif, and I wonder if that might affect it.
“It’s always something.” — Rosanne Roseannadanna
jrotemParticipantYes, it is the quotation mark itself that is not responding. I don't need the text font to be bigger.
I want the nice big quotation marks back that originally looked something like this. 🙂
